CBD CHOCOLATE & PEANUT BUTTER SMOOTHIE

This is a healthier spin on a chocolate and peanut butter milkshake. I love combining cacao with CBD oil because both work so well for calming the body – with cacao’s magnesium levels and CBD’s anti-inflammatory qualities.

355 ml/1½ cups coconut or almond milk

1½ frozen bananas, peeled

115 g/4 oz. frozen cauliflower florets

2 tablespoons cacao powder

1–2 tablespoons peanut butter

¼ teaspoon CBD oil 

Serves 1

Combine all the ingredients in a blender and process until smooth. Enjoy.

 CBD POMEGRANATE & KOMBUCHA MOCKTAIL

Kombucha, a kind of fermented tea, is one of my favorite alcohol alternatives (keep in mind that many brands do contain trace amounts of alcohol, but that’s less than 0.5 per cent per bottle). It’s got fizz and complex flavor and it packs in those natural probiotics for better gut health. Pomegranate brings a tangy-sweet flavor that makes this drink pop, but feel free to play around with other fruit juice mixers.

60 ml/¼ cup pomegranate juice

¼ teaspoon CBD oil

120 ml/½ cup plain kombucha

ice cubes, to serve

1 heaped teaspoon pomegranate seeds, to garnish

Serves 1

In a medium-sized serving glass, combine the pomegranate juice, lemon juice and CBD oil and stir to combine. Fill the glass with ice and top up with the kombucha, giving everything another final stir. Garnish the drink with pomegranate seeds and enjoy.

CBD COCONUT & PECAN BITES

Pecan pie meet energy bites — I love to have these little snacks on standby, especially as the weather gets colder when their autumnal flavors make a welcome treat.

10 Medjool dates, pitted

115 g/1 cup raw pecans

75 g/1 cup desiccated/dried shredded coconut

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

2 tablespoons hemp seeds

1 teaspoon CBD oil

¼ teaspoon sea salt

large plate lined with baking parchment

Makes 10–12/2 bites per serving

Combine all the ingredients in a food processor or blender and process until everything is finely chopped and well combined into a dough of sorts, scraping down the sides of the machine once or twice as you go.

Scoop out the mixture and roll into ping-pong sized balls. Place the bites on the lined plate and put into the freezer for 20 minutes to firm up.

Transfer the bites to a sealable container and refrigerate until needed. They will keep for up to 1 month.
